Return & Refund / Exchange Policy
If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, we are here to help.
If the exact shade of a colour is of utmost importance to you, we highly recommend you purchase the sample size when available (or 2 x 3 size if the sample is not in stock) to view prior to purchase. After considering the larger purchase, simply contact us within 30 days of its arrival and we will send you a paid return shipping label and full credit towards the purchase of the larger rug. (please save all the packaging material)
If you decide the style is just not right for your space, we will refund the sample cost less the cost of shipping upon receiving the sample back into our inventory.
My Item is Damaged
In the rare event that your rug is damaged in transit to you, please refuse the item and contact us ASAP.
If your item was damaged in transit and you were not home to refuse it, please save all the packaging material and notify us immediately.
If you have received and opened your rug and determine it is defective or that you have received the incorrect item, we will facilitate a pickup and replacement of the proper item. If defective we will occasionally request pictures to help us determine and evaluate the extent of the damage. These can be simple digital pictures sent from your phone. We must be contacted with any of these issues within 7 days of receiving your order.
To be eligible for a return, the rug will need to be unused and in the same condition that you received it. Keep your original packaging until you are sure of your purchase.
Return shipping expense is the responsibility of Area Rugs Canada when a rug is returned due to the above circumstances.
Once we receive your item and we have completed an inspection, we will notify you with the status of your refund immediately.
If your return is approved, we will initiate a refund to your credit card (or original method of payment).
If you are unsatisfied with your rug because you feel it is not what you hoped or expected, we would be happy to issue a store credit towards exchanging your product with another style or colour.
Return shipping expense is the responsibility of the customer in this case. However, we are happy to coordinate the return at reduced shipping rates, whenever possible. Return shipping costs for returned items will be deducted from the credit amount.
We respect your decision to change your mind. We give top priority to every request to cancel an order. Once our warehouse has confirmed that the order can be canceled, we will issue a prompt refund. Please note, however, that sometimes an order is too far along in the shipping process to be canceled.
In this case, we will assist with instructions on how to return the order for a refund. Return shipping costs for canceled or refused items will be deducted from the refund amount, as per our normal return policy.
